National Account Manager - Wholesale / Retail £43K + car allowance + benefits - Yorkshire

The Company

Our client is one of the UK's leading confectionery manufacturers with their own range of retro classics including some very well-known and market leading brands.  Across several busy sites they work tirelessly around the clock to deliver the very best confectionery with a combination of both traditional manufacturing methods and state of the art operations.

As well as an ever growing international presence they have long standing relationships with the UK’s biggest retailers, providing both branded and own label products. They operate across a number of different retail channels including grocery, wholesalers and cash & carry, discounter, forecourts and the independent channel.

The Role

National Account Manager 

  • To grow and develop our branded business with wholesale and independent customers
  • Full P & L responsibility for £4M 
  • Management of all members within all customers
  • Budget compilation & control for account base
  • Forecast management
  • Frequent travel required / regular customer contact in line with contact strategy
  • Commercial promotional evaluation & planning
  • Cross functional communication (Product development, Supply Chain, Commercial Finance, Marketing and Category)
  • Development, implementation and execution of account plan to deliver Sales & Margin Targets
  • Commercial responsibility includes all aspects of administration, budgeting, planning, forecasting, sales and profitability.
  • Manage all business plan & trade investments within agreed guidelines.
  • Investment Tracking & monitoring ROI.
  • Customer negotiation of all cost prices increases & annual terms
  • Relationship development across customer base to include buyers, channels & supply chain.
  • Bi-Monthly Customer Business Review Meetings at head office level
  • Internal communication with Category Management, Marketing, Credit Control, Commercial Finance, Forecasting, Planning & Supply Chain
  • Promotional Commercial analysis with recommendations aligned to commercial plan
  • Regular Store visits; surveys and audits to highlight new opportunities
  • Tracking store Promotional compliance and availability
  • Tracking distribution via Sales Out of all branded sugar products.
  • Support key sales projects

Qualifications needed

  • Minimum 3 years FMCG experience at NAM level
  • Experience dealing with wholesale or grocery or independent retail customers
  • Strong customer facing skills
  • Strong skills in Microsoft: Excel & PowerPoint
  • Numerate with strong financial & analytical skills
  • Strong presentation & interpersonal Skills
  • Self-motivated, driven, organised & disciplined
