My client is a highly successful, entrepreneurial, added-value, premium branded and own label chilled food business. Led by an inspiring MD, they have achieved substantial sales growth over the last 5 years and recently successfully completed a major new factory capital investment.

With a growing customer base and manufacturing capacity, they are now looking to appoint an outstanding and dynamic Sales & Marketing Director to spearhead the future sales strategy and effectively motivate the account development, customer service and marketing teams.

This is a senior leadership role where you will take total ownership of sales, new business development and detailed P&L management, working closely with all internal colleagues and key customer stakeholders to formulate long term profitable trading strategies and highly effective customer relationships.

Your premium accounts will be very food quality focussed, so you’ll need to be both passionate and fully up-to-date with the latest food trends and love working cross functionally with the NPD team, with the aim of developing bespoke products that are both commercially sound and also meet the needs of your customers.

You will also shape and develop all marketing activities including brand positioning, communication and promotional strategies with a focus on driving rate of sale and building consumer brand awareness.

To make a success of this fantastic senior commercial leadership role, you will have strongly grown your career in a recognised FMCG food company within the foodservice and contract catering sectors, where you have developed a sound understanding of the route to market dynamics and key customer contacts. With extensive knowledge of food development from concept to launch, you are used to working with and leading sales teams to deliver the highest customer service standards, as well as successfully growing profitable sales and budgetary achievement.

Above all, you are a charismatic and passionate individual with the gravitas to ‘hold the floor’, together with the drive, energy and strategic mind-set to achieve both the company’s commercial objectives as well as your own career goals, which in this role could truly result in a future equity share in the business.
