European Commercial Manager | Fresh Produce & Fruit | £DOE
Our client is an established and well-respected leader in the fresh produce and fresh fruit sector who is now looking to add to their commercial side of the business with a head of commercial or commercial manager role. This role has come about due to a renewed focus on sales both in the UK and Europe.
This role will see you sitting between the Commercial Director and the Sales team and taking on some of the day-to-day management and running of the group. This will not only include the UK but sales people abroad, based mainly in Europe. The main push behind this role will be to try and drive sales in Europe with retailers and other businesses, more a business development role than account management so contacts will no doubt help.
The team definitely has space to grow and the business wants to push growth abroad and their product availability in European retailers. So this role is a real opportunity within the business to grow a team around yourself.
To be successful in this role, you would have the following characteristics:
Experience with fresh produce or FMCG and European retailers would be looked on very favourably for this role but it will depend on the experience. European fresh produce and retailer contacts would be a great place to start.
A proven ability to run and organise a commercial team, preferably with international experience. Also, business development experience within Europe.
Fluent in Spanish or other European languages will be beneficial.
Great organisational skills and the ability to travel abroad as and when necessary.
