We are currently looking for a Sales Director for a long established and highly progressive fresh food business based on the South Coast. They have a history of disrupting the status quo and have some very ambitious growth plans which they are at the beginning of enacting. This is a great time and opportunity to get into the business and be a key part of their expansion. They are very open minded to finding someone who is taking on their first Sales Director role or someone who has a proven track record. But they want someone who is going to bring something new to the business.

So what do they want from this appointment?

They are looking for a leader, first and foremost. They need someone who can inspire their team and have them fully bought into the journey the business in undertaking. The business want someone who can, in a professional way, challenge the decisions that are being made to ensure they stand up to scrutiny. This is clearly a commercially focussed role and you will be judged on your ability to grow sales. However, they want you to be able to converse confidently across the internal functions of the business and ensure everyone is pulling in the same direction. They are open minded to finding someone who lives away from the head office, but would expect someone to be in the office 3 days a week.

Who will fit the brief?

You will definitely have a background in own label food production and ideally understand the speed and pace that goes with Fresh Food. Their core market is retail supply but they are looking to expand across a multi-channel supply chain. You will be given a big task to complete but you will approach it in an enthusiastic and considered way. Emotional intelligence is a hard thing to determine/identify, but it is a key component to this role. You will be a natural communicator and be able to effectively outline key points when they need making, both internally and externally. And finally, you will be driven by to grow and establish something great. This is a real opportunity to do just that.
