Your new company
We are supporting a modern, forward thinking food supplier who, through the dedication and drive of the current team, are going through a period of significant growth and expansion. Their customer-centric vision is the foundation of their success, and they are looking to appoint a dynamic and resourceful Sales and Business Development Manager to play a crucial role in steering the business through the next phase of their strategic expansion.

Your new role
In this role, you will be working with your Sales team to identify and win new business, develop relationships and generate sales in line with KPIs and budget. This will be achieved through the identification and evaluation of new customers in conjunction with optimising current accounts by maximising margins and profitability. You will also play a key role in the introduction of new products and services in line with customers' needs and assist the Procurement and Customer facing teams in taking a more pro-active approach to increasing customer spend. This is a key strategic position and thus the job holder will provide strong management as part of the Senior Leadership Team, driving the vision and direction of the business to the sales team as well as managing and motivating the team to achieve and exceed targets.

What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for the challenging, exciting and rewarding position, you will need to have extensive industry and product knowledge within a fresh food / short shelf life environment where you will be able to demonstrate a proven track record of success in winning new business and developing existing accounts. You will have a natural flair when it comes to analysing existing and potential markets for new opportunities, and be comfortable when it comes to the introduction of new and creative approaches to your sales team. You will have a clear and decisive leadership style, be hands on as well as strategic depending on what is required and most importantly be able to lead from the front to ensure high standards are maintained.
