National Wholesale Manager – Foodservice

£50-60,000 Basic, 20% Bonus, Car Allowance + Benefits

Our Client is a well established & highly successful food producer with a global presence.

They are looking for an accomplished National Wholesale Manager to manage a team of three wholesale field sales people, and also look after some important ( delivered ) wholesale accounts personally. Our Client is looking for a minimum of two years man management experience, as the time split for the job holder will be approx. 60% man management, and 40% personal sales.

It’s essential that candidates have a good level of man management experience, ideally managing field based salespeople and have exposure to both the ( delivered ) wholesale channel, as well as the end user channel ( any form ). This experience need not have been at the same time.

Some of the end user accounts will have more than one site ( perhaps small restaurant or pub groups with up to 15 or 20 sites ) so it’s also important that this person has some kind of exposure to accounts with multiple sites which buy through a central buying point ( this could have been either within end users or in the delivered wholesale channel ).

The wholesalers for which the job holder will carry personal responsibility include the likes of Hopwells, Holdsworths and Scotfrost. Our Client would very much prefer it if candidates had experience of the totally independent wholesale channel ( i.e. wholesalers which are not members of the buying groups such as Caterforce, Sterling, Landmark, Country Range and Fairway etc ). There’s a strong preference for people from a branded background ( not necessarily premium / tier one brands though – see below ).

It would be highly desirable if candidates understand the value of branding and had come from some kind of branded background. This does not need to be a big brand but could just as easily be a secondary / tertiary brand

Candidates ideally need experience of working jointly with wholesalers own sales / telesales teams, running ra ra days, promotions, blitz days etc

Remuneration - £50k to £60k basic, plus 20% bonus plus car allowance.

Living location – anywhere between Leeds and Southampton but with a preference for candidates living between Sheffield and Oxford.
