The role is for Fashion Product Design Manager based in Newcastle. The client are looking for candidates who are well rounded designers, have a passion for product design and brands as well as experience in a diverse range of design functions. It is imperative for this role that you have experience in menswear and footwear design and have worked with external brands collaboratively.

Description

The Fashion Product Design Manager will be responsible for the following:
  • Oversee the development of collaborative products with brand partners from concept to final production and all aspects of market activation
  • Lead the product design team in production of designs and line art to communicate design concepts
  • Present design / concept boards to communicate design and ideas around projects
  • Delegate tasks within SMU projects to other members of design team
  • Create supporting artwork that illustrates design concepts and tells stories to the consumer
  • Work with the business and brand partners to understand market needs and design to product briefs
  • Ensure deadlines and launch dates are met
  • Aid the development of marketing activation stories considering store activation's, image making, copy and any other additional content
  • Keep up to date on budget and spends of each project
  • Manage multiple projects at various stages in the process, ensuring the smooth movement of work flow through the product design process
  • Keep abreast of market trends and consumer needs
  • Check work of the design team to make sure colour, materials and components used in product designs are satisfactory to the company's style and standard
  • Maintain tech packs and other materials to hand-off to brand partners for sample manufacturing
  • Lead sample review sessions
  • Working to tight time scales and meeting deadlines




Profile

The successful Fashion Product Design Manager will have the following demonstrable skills and experience:
  • A Bachelors degree in fashion, product or industrial design (or similar degree within the arts)
  • Advanced level Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Experience in Menswear design
  • Fashion-focused and trend aware with keen interest in branded products
  • Experience within the Footwear and apparel product design
  • Excellent communication, organisational and presentation skills
  • Ability to receive design critique and respond with multiple solutions
  • Understanding of materials and their application to footwear and apparel designs
  • Understanding of material development processes and construction
  • Passionate and driven individual, who can demonstrate their enthusiasm for product design and an active interest in footwear
  • Ability to respond quickly to multiple projects with strong time management skills
  • Confident, personable and a team player
  • Excellent product and industry knowledge
  • Strong team player as well as ability to work independently
  • Experience in fashion image making welcome
  • Be able to travel to the Newcastle site, North East England
