Primary responsibilities: 
The role will be responsible for developing and implementing profitable brand and SBA business plans. To prepare and execute across both Brand and Own Label ranges targeted Brand and Business Plans covering communication, promotion, product development, packaging, research and tailor-made retailer brand programmes.
  • Primary target to achieve and exceed budgeted targets through the delivery of best in class category management to all our customers
  • To develop category credentials in all categories and target customers by being the authority in shopping and consumption habits
  • To develop customer relationships across commercial, marketing and merchandising teams
 Duties:
  1. Preparation of SBA business plans Brand and Customer Own Brand product ranges, to include full P+L responsibility
  2. Within this, the preparation and execution of the Category and Brand Plans to include, market share targets, appropriate communications plans and effectiveness measures, budgets and internal financial targets
  3. Development of the medium term Own Label category and brand plans to include recommendations for capital expenditure, on production and technology requirements, with appropriate rates of return for PSDD e.g. no. of machines, types of machines and location of machines, costs and volumes/margin pay-back terms
  4. Introduce effective controls, monitors and evaluation plans and actions to ensure achievement of agreed performance measures
  5. Prepare and execute customer range review presentations and tailor made Brand and Customer Own Brand plans where necessary
  6. Create and manage complex short and long term advertising and promotional plans
  7. Analyse data and insight to provide meaningful reports and analysis internally and to our customers, with strategic recommendations
  8. Provide internal reports on data including matrix reports, Management Summaries, and Brand Sales and Distribution Trackers
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
  • Commercial and marketing experience, within an FMCG environment
  • Knowledge of Brand/Range Development
  • Knowledge of NPD and packaging procedures
  • Detailed knowledge of various data sources and experience of using data software to produce meaningful category analysis and recommendations
  • Management of agency relationships
  • Insight skills
  • Project management skills.
