We are working with a profitable and highly-respected business within the food sector. This impressive business is the market leader in its category and is renowned for its concern for the planet and its ethical business relationships. As a result of its recognition that the future growth of the business will disproportionately come from export markets, the company has recently created this Export Sales Manager role to develop markets outside of the UK.
This is a blank-canvass, Export Sales Manager role for a solid, stable and successful business that wishes to drive sales in export markets for the first time. This position will provide the excitement and dynamism that comes with working in a start-up environment but without the risk.
There are no under-performing distributors to manage here. Only large, open spaces outside the UK that can be developed by the Export Sales Manager. This job provides the opportunity to make a tangible and visible mark on the international fortunes of a successful British business.
The business is hiring for the future and will build a team around the person hired for this role. Career advancement prospects are excellent here and the Export Sales Manager will likely become Head of International Sales (or similar) once sufficient turnover and the need for additional manpower has been achieved.

The company will pay a basic salary of £40,000-£50,000 with room for some flexibility depending on experience. In addition a performance-related bonus and benefits package including car allowance, bonus and private health care will be provided. Ultimately the company will create a package designed to attract the selected candidate.
The company wishes to recruit an experienced international sales professional with a background in the food sector. Prior experience of working with chilled foods is desirable but is not essential.
As a prerequisite you will have prior experience in an Export Sales Manager / International Sales Manager role. You will have a background in international distributor management and be an expert in European retail.
You will need to undertake European travel (perhaps one trip per month).
This is home-based role with occasional travel to the company offices.
