Senior National Account Manager - Grocery

Our client is an industry leading, fast-growing ethical healthy food brand. Founded in 2011 they have a carved a niche within their sector and are at triple digit growth YoY.

Already listed in Tesco’s Sainsbury’s, Waitrose, Ocado, Co-op, Spar, M&S and Wholefoods, sales are growing rapidly and they are now looking for an ambitious and committed, healthy-food loving person with a working knowledge of and a network in the UK  grocery market to work closely with the Head of Sales and MD on building sales in this channel. This is a hugely exciting opportunity to take a real step up in responsibility and build something from the ground up with a very successful and high growth product.

Responsibilities:

  • Continuously develop the 3-year Grocery channel strategy, with the Head of Sales, including focus areas, expansion priorities, pricing structure, promotional plan, trade marketing
  • Own the Grocery P&L and deliver the annual sales and profit budget by customer
  • Create and negotiate annual business plans to ensure they grow extensively and profitability with their customers
  • Broadening and fortifying their network across buying, supply chain, category and shopper marketing teams
  • Lead the development and delivery of NPD presentations and secure NPD listings
  • Plan and manage retailer marketing initiatives to boost sales (with Head of Marketing)
  • Deliver a “best in class” approach to account management through attention to detail and expediency with administrative tasks and customer communications
  • Represent the business at trade and consumer events

The Ideal Candidate:

  • You are classically trained within a Blue chip FMCG business and also have experience of working at a high growth SME (5+ years of post-graduate experience).
  • Within these roles, you have developed a strong track record and built a comprehensive network within the Top 5 Grocers
  • You are driven and a high-achiever, yet a great team player
  • You think strategically yet are hands on to deliver wins, with a great attention to detail
  • You are skilled at building business relationships and making connections around something you are passionate about
  • You are analytical and commercial, and have extensive P&L experience
  • You thrive on working in a fast-paced environment with an outstanding team, building an exceptional business
