The Commercial Director will be responsible for ensuring the organisation provides a first class service to its customers, suppliers and 3rd party providers. The successful candidate will play a key part in influencing the business' growth, while avoiding obstacles that arise from a constantly shifting market.

Client Details

Our client is a medium-sized business, and a leading Support Partner to the Events Industry, offering Bar and Catering solutions.


The Commercial Director will:
  • Oversee the sales team in identifying new market opportunities, determining optimal pricing levels to balance profit with customer/client satisfaction, and directing the optimal pricing.
  • Deliver and increase the income generated from up-sell and cross-sell of services and products offered
  • Oversee the daily operation of the logistics business, ensuring the delivery of business and strategic goals, providing leadership throughout
  • Oversee the procurement strategy and implementation of best practice initiatives
  • Ensure customer retention remains high and deliver new business growth
  • Develop and be responsible for existing and future, high value and complex supplier contracts
  • Manage and evaluate all proposals and tenders, ensuring retention of existing business and successful on boarding of new business
  • Maintain an dup-to-date knowledge of emerging markets, market trends and development in areas of interest and relevance to the business, delivering opportunities for next generation solutions
  • Develop and optimise existing event solutions, continuously seeking improvements in efficiency and effectiveness
  • Review and update all management information to ensure team deliver timely, accurate reporting which will drive out KPI's
  • Oversee BRC standards and procedures at all times
  • Work with all key stakeholders
  • Be office based in Gloucester


The Commercial Director will:
  • Have a good understanding of what it takes to maintain and develop the most productive client relationships
  • Have experience of managing accounts and relationships for multiple clients
  • Demonstrate exemplary project & people management skills
  • Experience of presenting to clients at board level
  • Have a proven ability to analyse data and utilise it to improve effectiveness and efficiencies
  • Be able to demonstrate good planning, and time management skills
  • Have recent experience within the Food and Drink arena, ideally Chilled/Ambient/Frozen/Fresh
  • Ideally have proven experience of working with the Logistics and Warehousing industries
  • Be able to be office-based in Gloucester, and travel where necessary
