The UK’s no.1 students’ union is looking for a new Assistant Outlet Manager to join its busy & vibrant retail outlet – ‘Our Shop’.

Our Shop is Sheffield Students' Union's very own local supermarket, stocking a whole range of useful everyday products from lunchtime deals, sweets and snacks to stationery, household toiletries and more. What's more, every penny made in Our Shop goes straight back into the Students' Union, helping to improve the services that the SU offers! 

Reporting to the Outlet Manager, you will be responsible for duty managing shifts and leading a team of staff to deliver a safe and welcoming environment for all of our customers, ensure effective use of the Retail team to maximise sales and deliver cost budgets.  In particular:

-  Deliver outstanding levels of customer service at all times

- Deliver training in, and ensure adherence to all Health & Safety, Legalities & Standard Operating   Procedures.

-  Contribute to the financial sustainability of the outlet

 

You will have substantial experience in a high turnover retail environment, including staff supervision and delivering results – both performance and financial - within agreed budgets and service levels. Be able to motivate and lead a large team of casual staff to deliver an excellent customer experience built upon a robust and thorough training scheme. You will be an enthusiastic and lively person, who is able to work well under pressure and has the ability to effectively delegate and prioritise work, and who genuinely has ambition to develop within the retail industry.

                                                   

You will receive a generous holiday package in addition to closure time over Christmas and Easter.   The working pattern for this role is Monday to Friday, with typically one weekend day a quarter to participate in the stock take.
