Business Development Manager / Key Account Manager

I am looking for an individual with proven credentials particularly within Grocery/Value retailers. This business is an innovative company with strong presence in the Gift market selling UK and worldwide.

Reporting into the Sales Director, this is an opportunity for an energetic and ambitious Key Account Manager to punch above their weight and make a difference in a fun environment. The successful individual will have evidence of incremental growth in previous accounts they have dealt with.

You will be the main point of contact for your accounts whilst developing and maintaining relationships with the customer at all levels.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop new business be it by new Accounts or by new product listings into existing accounts.
  • Maintaining or increasing profit margin, turnover, volume, distribution and market share.
  • Financial responsibilities will include monthly budgets/forecasts.
  • Work with Design, Purchase team to drive product ranges.
  • Organise and attend customer meetings, presenting new ranges and seek out new opportunities.
  • Negotiate trade prices and trading terms.
  • Create price proposals for customers.
  • Proactive approach to competitor shopping and market research, understanding current market and new trends - becoming the expert.
  • Attend trade shows, and regular team meetings.


KEY REQUIREMENTS
  • B2B experience, preferably Grocery/Value retailers.
  • Excellent sales and negotiation skills.
  • Possess strong administration and analytic skills.
  • Ability to manage a number of different projects at the same time.
  • An understanding of critical paths and product life cycle.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • A full UK driving licence.


KPIs
  • Performance reviewed in line with a monthly, quarterly and annual sales target.
  • Profitability/uplift in line with company target.
