National Account Manager

As National Account Manager for our Irish business & UK Wholesale, you will be responsible for achieving annual sales targets through the creation and execution of dynamic, channel specific sales plans. Working closely with our distribution partners, you will drive growth across all channels - retail, convenience and food service - through existing customers and new acquisitions. You will become an expert in the Irish market making regular trips to visit both our distribution partners and our customers, which will also include regular store visits to monitor & understand any changes to the market & competitor activity.
Understanding, supporting and building strong relationships here is critical to succeed in this role, both with your external & internal customers. You will work closely with the demand planning team to deliver accurate volume forecasts, ensure the communication flow between trading partners and the UK office (NPD, new listings, delistings, promotions, prices …) is effective and you will be responsible for presenting new products and concepts to both distribution partners and customers as well as supporting our distribution partner in planning all sales activities on the market (merchandising, trade marketing and in-store promotions)
You will have full P&L responsibility including budget management, terms negotiation and customer spend & will report monthly to the Commercial Team on sales performance, market updates and forward forecasting.
We are specifically looking for a candidate who has proved experience as a National Account Manager (around 3-5 years at this level), working with multinationals within the FMCG sector, specifically with branded food products. Experience of the Irish Market would be advantageous, although not essential for this role.
You will be part of a larger team, reporting into the Head of Sales you will be responsible for managing your own accounts & workload. Therefore to be successful in this role it is essential that you are a self-starter, who can operate autonomously with a proactive approach and are comfortable operating with minimal guidance. Relationship building is critical to the success of this role, along with knowing which questions to ask to drive the right outcomes, and a desire to learn about the market & our customers.
