The Advocate Group are looking to appoint a Commercial Manager at a very young and ambitious health food company. They are a passionate, rapidly expanding brand nestled in the heart of London.

The company

The company is a young, fast growing, challenger brand who are looking to expand their team having launched back in 2016. They have had exceptional success with accounts such as Ocado and Selfridges but are looking for someone to push the brand forward and hit the ground running. They are looking to appoint their first hire into the business to drive the sales commencement.
 
Responsibilities
  • Commercial Strategy development and deployment of all product categories in a number of channels, predominantly Grocery and Retail
  • Including full P&L accountability
  • Working to ensure maximum display visibility throughout all channels
  • Developing JBP level relationships with stockist counterparts across multiple categories
  • Effective evaluation of promotional performance and developing recommendations to maximise promotional mix ongoing
  • Design of bespoke shopper marketing programmes responsible for consumer penetration and conversion
  • Owner of SKU level forecast within customers
 
Customer & Category Data Management
  • Utilising customer systems to maximise our sales including influencing availability, compliance and promotion management.
  • Working with category insights to lead category recommendations for all lines across customers and ensure they have the most effective range

Customer Marketing Programmes

  • Working with marketing to develop the strongest possible customer marketing plans
  • Bringing the brand alive in stores (POS, displays, sampling)
  • Utilising other marketing tools (magazines, websites, PR)
 
Promotional & Performance Management (including P&L management)
  • Managing P&L of accounts and deliver value, volume and GP% metrics
  • Keeping track of market performance and competitor activity across accounts
  • Effective internal & external communication of performance, recommending specific actions where the business looks to both consolidate areas of strengths as well as rectify under pressure
 
Knowledge Skills and Experience
  • Ideally 1+ years minimum experience working on an established category preferably on a Top6 UK Grocery Account
  • IT Literate – with advanced user ability on both MS Excel and PowerPoint
  • A passion for selling and comfortable negotiating and influencing with senior buyers
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with others
  • Supermarket management experience preferred with proven results
  • Strategic thinking
  • Attention to detail
  • Good with numbers and the ability to analyse data sets
  • Hunger for the role, showing keenness to progress career
  • Passion to work in the F&B sector and a love for bringing the brand to people across the UK and beyond
