My client are a privately owned company who have grown from selling a small range of plastic products to a successful and dynamic business with comprehensive ranges in the Storage, Gardening, Housewares, and Hardware industries, all products are manufactured in Britain. The company has grown to over a £18m turnover business employing over 120 people. Due to this growth and an internal restructure, the business is now in a position to recruit an Area Sales Manager to the sales team.
As the South East Area Sales Manager, you will be responsible for managing some of the businesses largest independents and wholesalers. You will be tasked with weekly customer service visits as well as prospecting for new business to develop the area striving to achieve the targeted turnover.
The company have established a strong customer base across the UK market with major Nationals, Large Wholesaler and independents. You will have full responsibility over the given territory for a portfolio of existing accounts. You will be required to grow and develop the existing account base working towards monthly targets. An element of the position will be new business development, where you will prospect for new accounts.
Experience working with the independent houseware and hardware stores will be required. Knowledge and understanding of the large Garden Centre groups will also be beneficial, as will experience servicing large wholesalers. The role is field based and will require to be in Central / West London around 2 days per week.
You must already be an Area / Regional Sales Manager within the houseware / homeware / DIY industry
