… you will be responsible for supporting the QEHS Manager in the day-to-day management of all technical activities in order to ensure efficient running of the site technical department. This is a great opportunity and will provide a great challenge for an experienced team leader or manager who is looking to develop their career.

You will lead, coach, train, manage, develop and motivate your team, and be responsible for defining and achieving resource requirements. You will be a key player in ensuring that the highest factory standards are met in line with BRC, and other customer requirements. In addition to lab duties you will deputise for the QEHS Manager in all Technical related areas.

You will also be expected to make significant contributions to Technical project management, problem solving and continuous improvement initiatives, trend analysis and hygiene improvements. We supply most of the major retailers and as such many audits are unannounced. You must ensure therefore that all documentation and processes required to comply with BRC, customer specific or internal standards are ready and of a high standard at all times. You will work with other Managers and Team Leaders to connect both Arla and site strategy to the tasks of the department. Relationships will also be key with QEHS colleagues at Head Office in order to ensure best practice across all Arla Dairies.

* Budget management, quality, risk and resources within the laboratory
* Continuously develops to aquire new knowledge in relation to QEHS and communicates this to their teams
* Coordination of complaints and local crisis management within QEHS
* Development and testing of new analysis methods

You are
… the successful candidate will have a proven track record in a Quality or Technical Team Leader role within a food manufacturing environment. Dairy knowledge would be preferred but not essential. You must have a strong knowledge of Chemistry and Microbiology with an in-depth understanding of BRC, customer standards and audit requirements. A high skills level across leadership, problem solving and project management is essential along with the ability to think on your feet and make decisions. Good IT skills are required with knowledge of SAP an advantage.
