My client is a leading blue-chip FMCG business that operates globally with sites throughout Europe. They manufacture and distribute a wide range of well known consumer products to both retail and wholesale customers. Culturally, the company is both progressive & forward thinking, with a real emphasis on people development and personal progression.
Role:
The successful Operations Manager will work closely with the General Manager, taking ownership for ensuring conformance to the production plan in accordance to cost, quality, safety and hygiene. The business values a collaborative approach, therefore this role requires the ability to develop a culture of Operational Excellence, and encouraging all team members to influence and drive improvements.
Key responsibilities:
• Managing shift labour resources effectively, ensuring compliance to production plans through clear communication with engineering, warehousing and labour suppliers
• Improving productivity by creating a culture where all employees are encouraged to take a proactive approach to CI and driving operational excellence
• Taking ownership for defined revenue overheads budget
• Identifying and leading capital investment opportunities that deliver financial and/or safety benefits
• Creating a culture where all employees are driven to achieve the site business plan regarding legislative and customer requirements
Requirements:
Applicants will need to demonstrate the following experience:
• Extensive FMCG experience, including direct labour budget management and cost improvement
• Experience driving CI and operational excellence
• Proven experience delivering OPEX and LEAN initiatives
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence succession planning
