Client Details

My client is a personal care FMCG business based in Berkshire with a fantastic reputation and product offering they are widely indexed, but looking to grow and develop the brands/SKUs across Online, Grocery and High St channels. They're offering great flexibility and development opportunities and are looking for someone with an entrepreneurial mind set.

This role has total responsibility for delivering the sales and profit numbers through the above key accounts, sales channels. This an important sector, which is a challenging area which requires determination, creativity and both personable and driven man-management skills

The National Account customers require a tenacious approach, to continue to drive for new distribution/ listings and space agreements to increase visibility in the UK market


The National Account Manager's responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and implement an effective strategic sales plan by sales channel, with a clear vision on sales with both short term and long term goals
  • To deliver the company margin requirements and sales revenue target by brand and by customer
  • Initiate and assist in the development of marketing plans to support the channels

  • Weekly reporting of sales revenues, forecasts and new business to the MD
  • Provide monthly sales forecast for all above channels and customers
  • Direct account responsibility
  • Margin analysis
  • Sales forecast
  • Promotional program and annual plan
  • Build a multi level network that enables discussion with accounts at all levels
  • To feedback all information to the company regarding account visits, market intelligence, account strategies and promotional programs in the form of written communication, to enable the business to make any considered changes to its plans (financial or marketing)
  • Ensure all promotional prices are in the system
  • Ensure customers have all new line and promotional information to their guidelines and timings. Sample requirements for all new listings to be covered in line with each retailer's guidelines


The succesful National Account Manager will ideally display a proven track record withing personal care, beauty or a similar industry:
  • Proven ability to successfully manage sales budgets

  • Build strong relationships with all customers
  • Strong and firm negotiator
  • NPD sell in
  • Budget ownership and ROI reporting
  • Competitor positioning
  • Strong analytical skills (customer data/P&L/account investment)
  • Good verbal and written communication and presentation skills with an ability to manage relationships both internally and externally
