A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Category Manager to join my client a fast moving, market leading FMCG business based in the Surrey area. My client is a customer focused, dynamic business focused on the growth and development of their employees.

As the Category Manager you will be responsible for a spend of over 35 million across MRO, Capex, Facilities and Logistics. Have the ability to manage and influence senior stake holders internally and externally and provide insights to the leadership team.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Contributing to the development and adoption of key processes and ways of working for the procurement function
  • Accountable for creating and achieving cash flow improvements, service and quality targets
  • Establish credibility among the various stakeholder communities by working hand in hand
  • Ensure there is a continuous improvement mentality across the supply chain, processes and suppliers
  • Ensure a robust supplier performance and relationship management system is in place and maintained on a regular basis
  • Driving improvement in supplier performance across service, quality and cost while delivering robust contracts to manage spend and risk
  • Provide accurate and timely information to commercial teams and wider business on price movements and forecasts


The ideal candidate will have the following:
  • Experience of managing large, complex cross-functional change projects
  • Strong change management and implementation experience
  • Track record for delivering sustainable and consistent cost saving projects
  • Able to demonstrate a track record of engaging key stakeholders in category strategy development and implementation
  • Ability to demonstrate strategic change in a category role
  • Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail
  • Proven track record in procuring Engineering/MRO and site services categories
