National Account Manager | Horticulture | Home-based
We are currently working with a well established and respected business who supply into the cut flower and plants industry. They are looking for someone to help them manage the significant business they currently have in the UK but also to help them grow with new customers. They are looking for a Commercial Manager with experience in the horticulture industry, who also understands the requirements and expectations of working with the retailers.
The role of Account Manager:
You will be given a lot of autonomy to deliver on the company's objectives in the way you feel is most appropriate depending on the account. It will be essential to have a close working relationship with all of your customers. They don't operate in a finite market, so this gives you the opportunity to work in a much more collaborative way and will allow the team to design specific solutions that work depending on the customer requirements. There will be some stretching, but achievable, targets for you to aim for, but these will be rewarded as well.
The ideal Candidate:
Having a passion for the Horticulture industry will go a long way. This is an industry you either love or hate and there are a lot of subjective decisions that happen depending on individual opinions. As such, you need to be flexible and able to provide a range of solutions to various problems. There is no one size fits all.
Good commercial nous is clearly important. You will be the main impact on the P&L for the UK business and it is essential to have a good head for numbers.
The ability to react quickly will give you a clear edge against your competitor as well.
