Senior National Account Manager - On Trade - Pubs, Restaurants and Hotels
Our client is a leading soft drinks business, with a number of market leading brands within the portfolio spanning multiple categories and supported with a strong pipeline of innovation. They have delivered outstanding growth over the last few years, well ahead of the market, and are well poised to continue this, both with a strong strategy and a portfolio able to combat the sugar tax.
Following some recent recruits at a senior level, particularly in the out of home channel, the business is looking to appoint an outstanding senior national account manager with extensive experience across the on trade. The role will lead all the activities across major pub group national accounts such as Greene King, Mitchell’s & Butler, Heineken and Punch Taverns, as well as regional brewers, and also national hotel and restaurant chains such as Nando’s, Restaurant Group etc. The role is a key position in delivering the overall growth strategy and presents an opportunity for someone to build on the current volumes, write the channel strategy and then deliver it, and then look to recruit a team and build this around them.
You will be a high calibre national account manager or senior national account manager with significant on trade experience. You’ll bring your knowledge of the channel to play through prioritising the big wins and opportunities and leveraging your trade experience to deliver instant success. Drinks experience is not a prerequisite, but certainly you must have worked in the food or drink sector selling into these target customers. You will have excellent communication skills and be strong at building relationships with key stakeholders internally and externally, alongside your strong commercial understanding. The first 6-12 months will require you to make an impact, delivering improved business performance, but then you will be able to recruit a team, transitioning into a more strategic leadership position.
