Senior Category Buyer | Foodservice / Catering | £40k - £50k

About the Role:
As a senior buyer you will look to drive efficiencies throughout the procurement process and deliver savings across your categories. You will utilise your experience and track record of negotiating complex commercial agreements with suppliers to deliver tangible commercial results. You will assess the products within your category to ensure that the business is offering the best possible products to its customers - this might mean consolidating existing suppliers or bringing in new products / suppliers. You will have strong planning and organisational skills, ensuring that supply meets demand and any areas of opportunity in product range are exploited.
The Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate will have experience in a buying role within a complex, fast moving supply chain environment. Experience in the foodservice or catering sector would be an advantage. You will have a strong commercial background backed by results and savings. You will have helped improve sales by assessing the range of products within a category and made improvements to the offering through NPD or seeking new and exciting products. You will feel comfortable in a large organisation but be able to operate in an entrepreneurial team with a flat structure. You will be highly organised and have experience negotiating prices and managing tender processes. You will be a dynamic and pro-active individual who wants to be challenged and progress your career.
To be considered for this role you must, as a minimum have buying experience in a fast paced / FMCG environment. Be dynamic and pro-active; driven to progress a category and your career. You will have experience in negotiating prices, tenders and supplier and category management.
Depending on experience - £40k - £50k + progression and opportunities.
