BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
Home based — will be required to travel to client meetings in the London area and production site in West London (NW10)
Up to £50,000 + car allowance & benefits

About you

You want to be the architect of your future development and growth, no longer reporting into a line manager but reporting directly to the business, growing your B2B division from scratch as the first in role.

You have a little black book of food industry contacts, all seeking the best products and suppliers. You have built up relationships of trust that have helped drive your career into a Business Development/Commercial Manager role, in a B2B environment, with a respected food service provider or FMCG business and now is the time to take on the challenge of your career.

The role

You will be responsible for securing profitable new business in the London area, selling the quality of our clients’ products, negotiating contracts, setting up new customers internally, managing your own P&L and continuing to define new customer account relationships. Reporting directly to the UK Operations Director, responsibilities will also include working with the Transport Manager to arrange orders and logistics of deliveries, being accountable for all customer account/invoicing queries and working closely with the operations team. You will have strong commercial and financial acumen and will grow and take on new business responsibility in the B2B environment.

There is flexibility on location, however candidates will ultimately be required to work from the company’s production site based in West London (NW10) circa 2 days per week and there will be regular travel to your London prospective customer base.

The company

A fantastic and rare opportunity to join a fast growing Scandi bakery group, who first opened a UK bakery in London in 2016 and now has eight London stores and six vehicles. Our client has been serving delicious breads and pastries, made by hand, for over 20 years, with recipes handed down from generations and always made from the very best ingredients. They still do things the old fashioned way - expert bakers working all night and all day to ensure that every bakery gets the freshest, most delicious breads, pastries, sandwiches and cakes whatever time of day the customers arrive.

Our client has a large store expansion plan across London over the next 3-5 years. With stores based in premium London destinations, their vision is simple, they want to ensure every customer receives a world class experience. Whether it’s the design of their stores, the high quality of their products or the engagement with their customers, the customer experience with them should be truly memorable.

If you feel you have the desire and commitment to succeed in this exciting new challenge and have the relevant skills and experience then please apply below.

Alternatively, please send a copy of your most up-to-date CV to mariam@smithcarey.co.uk. If you would like to discuss the role in more detail please contact Maria Murphy on 0774 518 4922.

Closing date for applications: 13th May 2018
