National Account Manager – Grocery

Salary – Up to £45,000 plus full executive package


The Organisation

As National Account Manager you will be working for one of the UK’s largest horticulture business in the UK, supplying the retail channels with a range of unique potted flowers.  My client have won many business awards and were recently credited with an Investors in People ‘Gold’ award. Based in Hampshire, they have 175 employees. They are a family run business who has been operating for over 50 years, during this time seeing their sales turnover double to £40 million.

Due to an internal promotion this organisation is looking for a talented National Account Manager to represent their business within their grocery retail customer base.

The Role

As National Account Manager you will share the same company values & behaviours which include being part of the family, keeping quality at your core and growing future possibilities. All of these values will enable the business to achieve far more together as a team.

You will be responsible for managing one of their large and dynamic retail national account’s, maintaining and developing existing key relationships at all levels.  

You will be expected to forecast demand and margin accurately to enable the business to function efficiently. It is also anticipated that you will be able to translate a wide breadth of data including market, consumer and customer into insight and actions that drive success for the organisation and the customer.

Finally, you will be able to negotiate price and service and have expertise on pricing parameters for all product ranges and varieties. It is essential that you will be able to develop a customer business plan in line with company and customer strategy.

The Candidate

To be considered for this position, my client requires the following in terms of background and experience:

  • 18 months National Account experience (operating as an NAE or NAM)
  • Exposure to grocery business units (e.g. Tesco, M&S, Sainsbury’s, Coop etc)
  • Consumer goods experience, preferably food
