Your new company
Our client are a well-established and reputable multi-channel retailer who offer a diverse selection of products both online and in store. They are continuing to expand and looking to develop a new and exciting categories including a newly created role for a beer, wine and spirits buyer.

Your new role
Reporting to the Senior Buyer you will source and secure a compelling selection of beverages to deliver a profitable range against sales, margin and stock targets in line with company budget and brand, in addition to taking responsibility for own KPI's. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual who wants autonomy in their role and the chance to make a real difference by taking ownership of this category. There is great potential to increase turnover on the current beer, wine and spirits category and explore new avenues and trial new product areas. Your main responsibility will be to ensure that that the buying function is maintained effectively, accurately and productively. You must therefore be able to demonstrate a good degree of analytical and numerical ability, as well as a strong commercial awareness to be able to make sound decisions in this product area. On a day-to-day basis you will negotiate and source products at the best price either locally or via far east import. You will review Historical Data with Merchandising to establish a strategy & range structure in stores and on the Web. In addition to this you will continually assess competition and market trends and take appropriate action where necessary.

What you'll need to succeed
You will have buying experience in either beer wine or spirits, at either an experienced junior buyer or buyer level. You will also have an effective network of suppliers, ensuring there is an appropriate balance to maximise reliability, cost and minimise risk. You will be very proactive in your approach and effectively manage your own resources and workload to efficiently achieve the business needs and plans for your department.
