Our client is a successful Food Manufacturing business based in very green and pleasant area of the West Midlands.  The business supply the all the UK’s major retailers with their high quality food products.

An opportunity has arisen for a Commercial Analyst to join the team.

The Role

Commercial Analyst

Joining the very talented Commercial team working closely with Sales, Marketing and Supply Chain.

Duties:

  • Maintain the information and data flow for the commercial team – support across all Key accounts
  • Interpret and provide timely information to enable continued customer relationships and trust
  • Support the development of an ongoing cross-functional S&OP approach
  • Provide key input into the annual Budget process and monthly consensus forecast process, in the appropriate levels of aggregation

Key Results Areas:

  • Interpret/ communicate/ monitor customer plans in conjunction with commercial teams
  • Create relationships with customer supply chain to pre-empt/ resolve problems
  • Support the development of an ongoing cross-functional S&OP approach
  • Provide key input into supply and scheduling teams on existing items, NPD and delists
  • Manage costing model and database
  • Support account managers on costings, presentations and customer relationships
  • A customer/category/SKU demand forecast which regularly incorporates latest information; that allows us to more accurately predict customer demand and provide the supply chain with the appropriate information to plan how to meet that demand
  • Liaise cross- functionally with timely accurate information
  • Regular and ad hoc analysis to support commercial teams

The Candidate

  • Commercial mind-set with exposure to Sales & Operations Planning, Costings, and Demand Planning.
  • Ideally background in Food or FMCG.
  • Strong organisational, decision-making and presentation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, listening, persuasive and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and develop positive relationships.
  • Ability to challenge the status quo constructively and make recommendations.
  • Graduate level; proficiency in data analysis and statistical techniques.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and Powerpoint.
