The Company:

A £multi-million turnover non-food consumer goods supplier. This company has a strong global presence, selling into over 50 countries, as well as extensively in the UK. They specialise in supplying retailers with in-demand products across categories such as Toiletries, Health & Beauty, as well as Pharmaceuticals.

The Role:

The job role will be focused around selling wholesale toiletries and pharmaceuticals in to new and existing, small – medium sized accounts. Typical customers are supermarket chains, high street chains, discount stores, pharmacy stores, cash and carries. The client has invested heavily in to buying stock and the successful candidate will be focused on selling these goods from their ‘stock floor’. Their account base will be a mixture of existing accounts they already trade with as well as focusing on a bringing in new quality business. The role will be managing the sale of goods from the initial ‘offer’ through to the final delivery, working with their operations, finance, warehouse and commercial teams throughout.

Whilst this is a sales role, the job is often about finding the right products, at the right price and presenting this quickly and presentably to the customer. Understanding the needs and wants of the customer portfolio is essential so they are looking for relevant skills to outclass in this area. The selling process will be a good mixture of telephone, email and face-to-face meetings.

The person for this Sales Representative role:

We are looking for candidates who are personable, presentable, driven (target and self), ability to self-motivate (with the uncapped commission incentives) and be independent. They want creative people who think outside of the box and are always seeking new ways in which to do their job. This client creates an environment for employees to be innovative with a non-pressured sales environment giving employees a chance to let their ‘numbers do the talking’.

A candidate with a strong sense of loyalty and the desire to progress in the company is desired and they offer the chance to progress within the company. Organising and managing your own diary is a must. Being computer literate and good understanding of Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint (for presenting to customers) is essential.

Despite what’s said above, they are really looking for someone with at least 1-2 years FMCG sales experience in retailers. However, other wholesalers like food or drink may be considered too.

The role will be in a new office, with an abundance of luxury facilities. They put a big focus on ensuring employees have an outstanding area in which to work.
