The company:
Based in the North West, my Branded FMCG client is well known in their field and experiencing a period of change, with innovation and NPD at the forefront of their strategy. They have created the new role for an Innovation and NPD Manager to really advance the business goals by leading the exploration of a long term innovation pipeline.
 
The role:
  • To develop selected projects to an agreed stage to reinvigorate product ranges and pursue growth opportunities across FMCG categories
  • Lead the NPD system management and Project Management team driving improvements
  • Develop a Project Plan with defined milestones and report progress
  • Define and shape projects to an agreed stage backed by clear rationale
  • Identify and rationalise innovation opportunities over a 2-5 year horizon
  • Ideation, development, testing and review of innovation concepts
  • Conceptualise opportunities aligned with identified themes and need states
  • Coordination across multidisciplinary teams and communication with stakeholders at all levels
  • Management of projects with key agencies and suppliers
  • Staff management of 4 direct reports

The successful candidate:

  • Have demonstrable experience within a NPD/innovation environment, having successfully brought innovation from concept to market
  • Experience of managing a team
  • Demonstrable experience of Project management and managing a NPD process
  • Be brand and design literate & possess a real passion for creativity and innovation
  • Have experience of agency selection, briefing and management
  • Be someone who has strong gravitas, confidence and commercially astute
