Our client is a market leading supplier of consumer goods, with a focus on homeware and gardening. The company continues to grow, going from strength to strength within the retail channels it has established itself in. With 25 years of successful business under their belt, they are looking to expand the sales team, bringing in a National Account Manager to lead the company in a refreshed direction, exploring new channels and customers.

The role:

Reporting directly into the Sales Director, the National Account Manager will be responsible for growing the business across multiple retails channels including grocery, discounters and homeware stores. This role will entail a huge amount of relationship building as new business development is crucial during this period of expansion. This position requires an individual who is passionate, confident and who can hit the ground running. With a range of over 4000 products at their disposal, our client works with a huge range of customers, and to succeed in this role, adaptability is key. No two days will be the same, with a large percentage of the National Account Managers time spent in the field, meeting with clients – both prospective and maintained – at a head office level, to ensure the needs of the customer are identified and met.

The person:

  • Experience working with the Top 4 retailers and / or homeware chains
  • Experience of managing long-running relationships with these retailers
  • A proven track record of successful selling
  • Determined, tenacious and not afraid of a challenge
  • Willing to travel
  • Strong influencer with good negotiation skills
  • Excellent organisation and a keen eye for details
  • A proven track record of generating new business and developing key relationships

This role is based in Peterborough (1/2 days a week) with the rest of the time spent meeting with clients. Our client is offering a highly competitive package in return for the dedication and commitment of a new National Account Manager.
