Procurement/Buying Manager | Fresh Produce | £To attract the best

We are working with an outstanding business operating in the sourcing, growing and packaging of fairly traded environmentally friendly fruit and fresh produce. This part of the business responsibly sources fruits from around the globe from New Zealand to Egypt all to the UK. They cover soft fruit, top fruit, stone fruit and everything in between. All organic and supplying their clients with the highest quality goods available, bought directly from the local producers.

The Role: 

This well-established and ethical business is on the hunt for a brilliant procurement professional who can really take a hold of this role and make it their own. The nuts and bolts of this role will be based around day-to-day management of key accounts from small wholesalers to larger, specific accounts. This will involve extensive relationship management and working with internal buyers to confirm weekly prices.

You would also be responsible for specific product lines such like Citrus, Pears & UK Apples. This would involve managing the stock throughout the supply chain and ensuring all volumes are met. There will be a requirement for 1 in 7 weekends to work, split out with other team members. 

The Candidate:

To take on this exciting and well supported role, the successful candidate will have the following:
A great background in procurement, buying or account management within the fresh produce or food sector would be ideal. A few years' experience is expected.
Sensational communication skills and a confident outgoing personality will be essential to success in this role and enable you to fit into a closely knit small team.
A good level of experience with Microsoft Office and numbers/spreadsheets.
