Stafford Borough is on the up!
Growing at an unprecedented rate and recent figures show more than £2 billion has been invested in, or planned for, the area. So far there has been the delivery of a £100 million town centre retail scheme, expansion of the Army’s Beacon Barracks and thousands of new jobs created.
This level of growth is set to continue with work underway on a £10 million Council funded leisure scheme, a number of large housing schemes, growing business parks - and Stafford will be a hub station for HS2.
The Council is a forward thinking authority planning to meet the key challenges of this unprecedented growth. We are therefore seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated professional to join us in the position below:
An opportunity exists for a dynamic, enthusiastic, flexible officer with strong people skills and a flair for IT, to provide a major contribution to deliver regeneration and growth across the Borough and its town centres.
The focus of the role is to deliver strategic projects within the Borough focusing on the town centres of Stafford and Stone, including support for local partnerships and strategic interventions to deliver the Council’s growth ambitions.
This role is in a busy, fast moving environment and includes working with Stafford Town Centre Partnership, businesses, and others to deliver challenging and aspirational projects. You should be great at motivating and negotiating with others, and ideally have a good working knowledge of the retail sector, marketing, promotion and the property market.
This role requires a motivated individual, able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines with an accurate attention to detail. It is essential that you have experience of working in a town centre management environment and have delivered major regeneration projects in partnership with others.
