We currently have an exciting job opportunity for a Senior Buyer to run and manage the Bakery category (Daily Bread, Speciality Bread, Cakes and Celebration) with one of the most innovative retailers in the UK. A fast growing and successful business who have seen phenomenal growth with a huge variety of products, this is your opportunity to be part of a multi-award winning business who sell a broad range of food and non-food categories.

Your new role
You will be tasked with producing a range that is suited to the customer at the best possible price, which will mean sourcing from and negotiating with new and old suppliers both domestically and internationally to secure the best offers. This includes ensuring supplier and sales performance is monitored and strategic planning covering NPD and Promotions are delivered. Using your outstanding influencing and people skills, you will also be required to work in partnership with the QA, Technical and NPD teams to ensure that all products, both branded and own label meet the high standards set by the business.


What you'll need to succeed
You will have at experience in a retail buying role within the FMCG industry, and preferably educated to degree level. Experience in Bakery, Short shelf-life of Chilled foods including food to go, dairy, desserts is desirable. Having a good strong knowledge and awareness of the marketplace is essential for any buyer, but a good eye for detail is crucial in this role to make sure no opportunity to maximise sales is missed. This is an extremely fast paced environment so you will need to be one step ahead at all times and often thrive under pressure. The ideal candidate will have energy and tenacity as well as the ability to handle complex data and prioritise their workload
