We’re looking for a Product Manager to join our team, reporting into the Product & Marketing Director. You will help create and develop product and their supporting stories, messages and tools to deliver product features and benefits to the end consumer. You will be able to build product collections from the ground up, by interpreting external market data and internal sales reports, identifying trends and gaps in the marketplace, and turn this information into real product solutions. You will understand the technical aspects of a product’s make-up; how to extract it’s key USPs, and turn these into viable messaging solutions. You will be responsible for a direct report: our Product & Buying Executive, The role is critical within the business to deliver against our Integrated Business Plan, and in emphasising the values of the companies brands.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop an exceptional understanding of the marketplace; the product and marketing activities of our key competitors; their pricing strategies, and the requirements of the end consumer, to ensure we create the right product stories;
• Translate market and competitor data and insights into business plans: analysing the data to understand what product needs to be created; what price points they should be sold at, and ensuring that we remain competitive in the marketplace; • Work closely with our Sourcing Director to ensure product cost, trade and retail prices are in line with the expectations of the marketplace and the margin requirements of the Business;
• Work with the Sales team, International Distributors and our own Retail stores to understand the needs and requests from retailers and consumers, and translate these needs into product results that match the data;
• Act as a conduit between Product and the sales and marketing teams to help plan the right product for the right retailers at the right price with the right promotional support – ensuring that account plans are created and gaps in the product listings are identified;
• Work closely with the Head of Marketing to ensure all brand goals are delivered; that specific product messages are called out at point of sale or online, and that the values of the brands are better supported in front of the consumer;
• Listen to and translate messages from the Design team: to understand their vision of our products, and to deliver this across relevant touchpoints;
• Brief the graphic design team as required to create and deliver specific product or POS requirements to highlight product messages; oversee output, and approve final layout before going to print;
• Create seasonal product toolkits and presentations that explain product values, features and benefits to our sales team, and allow them to present collections to retail customers;
• Write copy for seasonal toolkits, product catalogues, websites, internal documents and presentations, etc. that extract key technical details and translate them into engaging messages;
• Work with the marketing team to ensure key details are called out in product photography;
• Day-to-day management of the Product & Buying Executive.

Experience & Skills Required:

• Between 2-5 years’ experience working in Product Management;
• Leadership/ self-starting capabilities with creative thinking and strategic thinking skills;
• Strong project management experience with proven organization skills; time management skills; high level of detail orientation, and ability to implement and execute multiple projects at once;
• People Management skills, and the ability or oversee the work of direct reports;
• Experience of working, in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency;
• Ability to influence and work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment with several different departments & across all levels of the organization;
• Dedication to maintaining high standards of quality, including copywriting and proofing skills; • Positive, friendly, confident demeanour with a can do, proactive approach to work. Measurements of Success
