Overview:

We are looking for a Commercial Manager with a bit of a difference. The person we are looking for will have an eye for detail, a passion to build sales and be able to work effectively with a number of different points of contact throughout the supply chain. You will have a lot of freedom to create new products and steer the category. The business is a really interesting company who have always had a long standing relationship with a number of retailers, but M&S in particular. As such, they are looking for someone with good experience of working with M&S, ideally with an Ambient or Chilled Food background. They have been at the forefront of driving this category and as such they have a lot of sway on its direction and design.


The Role:

You will be working with a well established and passionate team who are all working together to develop the category. Over the last few years, they have created a category that didn't exist and grown it significantly as well. The role covers both online and retail store supply, so will offer the chance to work in a number of different ways. You will have a couple of reports who you will be responsible for developing and ensuring they are working in the right ways. Due to the nature of the business, there are more stakeholders than usual and you will need to be talking to a range of people across the customer but also within other suppliers.


The Candidate:

Ideally you will be educated to degree level, but vocational experience is going to be far more important. Experience of working with M&S is a real must. The relationship they have with them is key and they want to ensure there is good understanding of this across the business. The ability to be creative will be a real asset. They have more flexibility with the creation of their products that opportunities are pretty much endless. You will need to be a good communicator and influencer as there will be a number of possible ways to get what the business needs. But it will be your job to do it!
