The Company:

My client is responsible for a number of well-loved brands and is a leader within the Houseware sector. They have become an international business with sales of over $200m globally. Priding themselves on innovative technology, they are constantly developing new and revolutionary products and investing in the latest technologies to ensure they are brand leaders. The UK is an established market for our client but operates as a subsidiary with significant room for growth. As a result the group is investing in the UK in order to maximise its potential here. As a result they are now looking to add an ambitious and driven National Account Manager to their team. The successful candidate will help to continue the growth of some of our client’s main accounts including Amazon, Argos and Asda.

Role:

As National Account Manager you will be responsible for managing a number of high profile accounts, with a key focus on Lakeland, Debenhams Argos and Asda including other across department stores and grocers. You will have full P&L responsibility and will be tasked with putting together strategic business plans to achieve the company’s targets.

The UK business operates with a small headcount as it is heavily supported by the main group headquarters in Europe. As a result you will work with a high level of autonomy and must be able to work independently as this is a home based role (1 day a week in the office). You will be expected to form strong and collaborative relationships with buyers within your accounts. The ultimate aim is to improve sales and profitability for the business and also for your customers by utilising category management techniques. In addition, there will be a selection of new business targets which you will be tasked with securing. There is significant growth potential within your customer portfolio and you will have the benefit of representing a fantastic brand in order to help realise this.

To be considered for this role you will be a National Account Manager or Key Account Manager within non-food consumer durables, preferably currently operating in the houseware industry. It is essential that you have experience of dealing with accounts at a senior buyer level and possess knowledge of how the key accounts mentioned above operate. You must have a dynamic and enthusiastic personality, you will be a self-starter and be comfortable making strategic business decisions.
