Your new company
Ireland's leading Food & Grocery company has a reputation for being one of the most sought after places to work. Their innovative ideas and implementation has seen the company transform in recent years and they are now looking for a Business Development Manager to expand their Independent Retail Sales even further.
Your new role
Reporting into the the Independent Retail Sales Manager you will be required to develop a pre-determined with total responsibility for sales, debt, margin and profit. The nature of the role will set you targets to exceed agreed territory sales budget and stretch margin targets across the scope of the Retail business.
You will achieve this by:
- Managing a prospect list in order to build new relationships whilst expanding the range that is currently being supplied to existing accounts all within agreed credit terms.
- Maintaining your Territory will only be possible with good time and resources management;
- Structuring an effective call pattern for each customer and providing excellent customer service
- Following organised administration practices, reporting accurate and relevant information on competitor activity and other trade field information to the Sales Manager
- Identifying the correct product mix in each account thus ensuring maximum profitability
- Conducting full co-operation with the assigned region via Telesales, Regional GM's and Regional Retail Floor Managers
What you'll need to succeed
In order to be considered for this role you will need to provide evidence, both in person and CV, evidence of the following: Extensive knowledge/experience in Convenience Grocery Wholesale Trade; Experience in one of market leaders in retail / wholesale business; Experience/ knowledge in retail industry or in direct retail sales; Proven track record in proactive field sales and achieved targets; Ability to manage a customer base and develop new business; Track record in selling large product range; Ability to manage customer profitability; Persuasive Selling and strong negotiation skills; Excellent questioning and listening skills; Commercial awareness; Administration skills (Microsoft Office Suite, Reporting), planning and time management skills.; Customer focused with an ability to develop strong customer relationships; Ability to change, adapt and be flexible.
Essential Criteria:
- Leaving Cert / GCSE.
- Full clean driving licence
Desirable Criteria:
- Sales training.
- Food Qualification
