We are currently working with a well-established business who have been well established in the food arena, supporting a number of suppliers and retailers with their reusable packaging solutions. They have an opportunity for an experienced Retail Sales Director to join the team and to help drive the company's market position forward. Customer service is at the heart of the business and crucial to their success. They need someone who has good operational experience and understands pooling of products. They operate in a very fast paced market and the quicker they can recover their equipment, the more efficiently they can work.

The Role:

As the Retail Sales Director, you will be responsible for a range of customer relationships, including some of the major multiples, but also the various suppliers that supply them. You will be working closely with the Managing Director to plan the overall strategy and how to develop new business opportunities. This is inevitably a big decision for potential customers and will involve a lot of change throughout their supply chain, so you will need to be able to play the long game.

The Candidate:

Experience in the food supply chain is essential. You will need to have a good mix of operational awareness and commercial ability as they are business driven by their operational prowess. The ability to communicate at a range of levels is vital as you will be dealing with Senior Retail contacts to operatives within warehouses. You will be managing a team of 4-5 field based account managers and will be responsible for their activity.
