There’s probably never been a more exciting time to experience the artisan food revolution and this is the opportunity to work for a world class artisan brand at the top end of a vibrant global food community. Developments in the cheese industry are akin to the craft beer or speciality coffee movements of recent years and Quicke’s are looking for an export manager to look after the USA market, which is arguably the frontline of the revolution!

If you enjoy travel and want to engage a passion for food in your profession then this could be a dream job.  Travel is a big part of this role. You will be spending circa 12-16 weeks in the USA every year and when in the UK will be tapping into the London food scene as well as making regular trips to Quicke’s Home Farm in Devon. Location wise it is likely that the successful candidate will be based in the South East/South/M4 corridor.

This isn’t your standard BD Export role. Perhaps you are already working in food or want to make a move from education/training; marketing; customer service; 3rd sector/fundraising toward the food industry, whilst expanding your remit to look after a global brand in a key export territory. The right person will come before the right CV.

Quicke’s is a business led by values; with a reputation as one of the original and best of the old-world artisans. This job will present a broad plethora of skill requirements and experiences, from working with World Top 50 restaurants to national multiple retailers. You will be conducting tastings in stores to meet the American public, holding court with the country’s top chefs and retailers as well as speaking at conferences and masterclasses around the United States and in London. You must be someone who thrives on offering expertise and credibility in your professional life.

You should be comfortable with taking on ambitious and stretching targets for growth whilst understanding the need for a healthy diversity of revenue between customers and sectors.

You will need to be adaptable and energetic with a high degree of emotional intelligence and strategic thinking to navigate the many and varied challenges and opportunities that this role will present.  You will enjoy being highly networked as part of the “cheesetribe”!
