REPORTS TO:  Business Unit Manager Ireland

ROLE PURPOSE:  To manage a territory of Irish Craft Bakery customers delivering to agreed budgets and targets in the area of volume, margin, product mix, credit, prospecting and new business conversion

  • Delivery of volume & gross margin targets in the Irish Craft Bakery Market
  • Drive improvement in margin through volume gains, improving product and trade mix
  • Play an active part in the Irish Business Unit
  • Be part of wider Commercial team, and aware of their part in delivering the Commercial targets
  • Develop territory plans to generate profitable Craft business from new and existing accounts using commercial sales process
  • Use knowledge of market dynamics along with relevant business and market information to develop and embed effective commercial strategies
  • Manage the retention and growth of existing Craft customers
  • Win new Craft business through effective prospecting and management of Business Opportunities
  • Ensure an effective and comprehensive communication network is established and operating to provide the business with timely and accurate information about matters of relevance to commercial activities
  • Develop effective links across the business, especially Customer Service, Technical, Accounts Receivable, Wheat Procurement, Marketing and Operations personnel
  • Manage delivery of Volume, Gross Margin, Perfect Invoice and Credit performance targets
  • Ensure prompt action is taken to resolve issues including credit risks, quality issues, management of new accounts and lost business
  • Report monthly on the achievements to the sales plan to Business Unit Manager, including a forecast of next month’s activity
  • Ensure effective and efficient management of all administrative requirements of customers within the Craft territory
  • Manage craft sector customers and ensure all relevant information is communicated effectively to the business in a timely manner
  • Manage Craft territory budgeting and forecasting processes in line with business requirements
  • Ensure Irish Business Unit is fully informed on Irish Craft business performance and ensure alignment to requirements and policies

Essential role related knowledge, skills, qualifications and experience at selection

  • Commercial experience within B2B trading environment, preferred FMCG experience
  • Proven ability to develop and manage customer relationships
  • Strong track record of delivery of Territory commercial targets
  • Demonstrate negotiation skills within Territory management
  • Evidence of ability to influence non-commercial functions
  • Numerate and commercially astute
  • Good verbal, written and presentational skills
  • Effective time management
  • Solid IT skills
  • Evidence of  territory planning and meeting preparation
  • Evidence of courageous, inventive, driven and straightforward behaviours
