A privately owned multi-channel pet food supplier with an impressive reputation. With a strong portfolio of brands this business trades successfully in all retail channels and offers the range, price points and support required by the most demanding buyers.

The role of National Accounts Manager - Grocery:

With a broad range of pet products to sell you will inherit a portfolio of customers across grocery, discounter and clearance channels with a brief to build on customer numbers and sales value. This is a role that requires a keen negotiator who can maintain the value of premium brands while negotiating own-label supply contract simultaneously.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Agreeing an annual sales and marketing plan with the Directors
  • Implementing a business plan by account
  • An active strategy for key account acquisition
  • Analyse and interpret sales data in order to guide decision making
  • Present regular business reviews for the Board

National Accounts Manager - Grocery:

We are looking for National Accounts Manager with experience in the grocery, discounter and clearance channels.

A keen negotiator and well connected you will have a proven track record of success in branded or own-label product sales.  Pet trade experience is an advantage but not essential.

Specifically, we are looking for:

  • At least 5 years’ sales experience dealing with buyers in multiple retail groups 
  • Highly numerate with the ability to read and react to sales data
  • A great communicator at all levels with excellent negotiating, influencing and presentation skills.
  • Highly self-motivated with the desire, enthusiasm, drive, determination, tenacity and ability to achieve results.

The job holder will enjoy a competitive basic salary and bonus scheme (up to 30% of salary) plus car (or allowance)
