Job purpose and key deliverables

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Business Development Executive to join the Campaign Development Executive to support in the development of British American Tobacco as Customer Marketing experts in the industry.
 
The Business Development team is the conduit between Brand and Trade. The team are responsible for taking into account the brand strategies and vision and helping translate them into tangible business benefits via provision of the best tools possible to enable the trade to achieve the objectives set. Being at the forefront of our business, the role of Trade Marketing & Distribution (TM&D) is to excite shoppers to buy and customers to sell our brands, to help achieve our growth objectives.
 
The purpose of this role is to support the Business Development function, and more closely the Adult Tobacco Shopper Marketing team, in the development of new awareness generating initiatives and programmes, and driving the collation of content and information for the digital tools that are central to BAT UK’s customer and consumer marketing. This will be done through liaison with both the brand and trade teams to identify and drive content for the relevant audience. The role also involves working closely with the wider Business Development team to achieve activation objectives in line with TM&D principles, primarily through support and execution in trade facing arenas e.g. trade media, trade shows etc.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and develop new and innovative awareness building strategies and tools for implementation in the retail environment
  • Support, co-ordinate and drive the creation of integrated campaigns to maximise retailer engagement in line with brand plans

·         Assist in the ongoing management of the BAT UK B2B platforms including the app and proactively collate content and media for the digital app and recommend solutions to integrate marketing campaigns using B2B digital media
·         Pilot and develop new digital solutions and touchpoints

  • Provide/ collate content for upload to the digital B2B and trade media publications to support the communication plan for BAT UK
  • Closely work with Brands and Trade on development of creatives to support activation and display requirements and ensure consistency across all customer communications
  • Presentation of plans to key internal stakeholders

·         Support and maintain team administration such as budget tracking, external, stakeholder management, records management amongst others

  • Assist the wider Business Development teams with roll out of specific projects in scope

*Essential requirements ·     

    2-3 years of experience in FMCG Marketing with a good understanding of digital platforms and media, and the UK retailer environment

·         Understanding brand strategies and interpreting these into activation and engagement plans that deliver for brands and retailers

·         Open to change with the ability to adapt quickly within a fast-moving environment

·         Strong organisational, communication and presentation skills

·         Demonstrates strong drive and initiative to ‘own’ their role

·         Ability to work under pressure and to short timelines

·         Strong planning skills in order to deliver multiple activities and projects simultaneously

·         Good knowledge of trade marketing principles and practices
