Senior Buyer - Food

Our client is one of the leading players in the food sector and as part of a re structure they are looking to appoint a Senior Buyer. Reporting in to the Buying Manager this role will be to help set the buying strategy in conjunction with the senior commercial team and then deliver it! It will be about managing the product and the supplier base, ensuring that the product is moved through the system as efficiently as possible to meet the supermarkets orders. It will be about leading negotiations on pricing and volumes and building strong and lasting relationships with the supply base.

You will have extensive contract and negotiation experience with a proven track record of driving supplier performance across price, quality and delivery. You will have excellent communication skills and be a great negotiator with long term view, however overall we are looking for a strong team player with a positive 'can do' attitude and an ability to lead multi functional teams and communicate at all levels.

The salary is negotiable upon experience but is likely to be a strong basic + benefits
