Senior Buyer Food – up to £70,000 plus excellent package – Kent based

An excellent opportunity has arisen within a fast paced successful food client who is seeking a food buyer to join their dynamic and expanding team in Kent to assist with an increase in work force.

The successful senior buyer must have demonstrable experience of food buying gained from a food retailer, hospitality or food manufacturer. Your responsibilities as the buyer will be to source and negotiate the optimum range for your category to deliver the targeted sales, profit and margin target. You will be someone who can identify new areas of opportunity and develop and gain commitment for your product category strategy. You will work cross-functionally with  category, technical, pricing, finance & supply chain teams to deliver optimum product that meets all quality and service level KPIs & customer needs You will have excellent negotiation and influencing skills and will be able to demonstrate a can do attitude. You will have a proven track record of delivering category cash margin growth & overall gross cash profit of UK business. As well as excellent skills in controlling the cost of goods and delivering terms improvements with the supplier base
