The Role of Merchandiser / Retail Specialist:

Reporting to the Dealership Development Manager, this role involves visiting Dealerships and garden centres to:

• Install and update shop fittings
• Provide advice on prime positioning of STIHL/VIKING displays
• Improving merchandising and visual impact of displays
• Assist with the training of dealers in the demonstration and effective sale of products
• Identify new sales opportunities and build strong trade relationships

A Merchandiser who demonstrated success and capability at this level would enjoy an excellent future career path into sales, training or marketing. The job holder will need to travel throughout the region and this will require several nights away from home each month.

Merchandiser / Retail Specialist profile:

Living in a central location (Bristol, Bath, Taunton, Swindon, Gloucester) you will be active and energetic with enthusiasm for practical hands-on and outdoor activities, happy to work on your own as well as part of a team.  You will be completely reliable and willing to travel extensively with nights away.

You will be dynamic and have previous experience of working in a retail, events or marketing environment where you have gained knowledge of shop layouts, product promotion and setting up displays. You might presently be a Store Manager, Deputy Manager, Retail Area Manager, Sales Representative or a Merchandiser.

Using your creative flair, you will have the dexterity to install and merchandise displays. You will have confidence to brainstorm ideas and concepts to the merchandising team as well as influence your customers.

You will have a passion for customer service and strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to problem solve.
