Your Responsibilities:

No matter what level you are at your opinion counts and you are trusted to be the expert for your categories. This level of autonomy is massively refreshing and gives you a chance to be creative with your trading.

As an Assistant Buying Manager you'll work in conjunction with the Buyer to support the development of annual category plans and implement these in line with the overall category strategy. Your role will involve a wide range of activities, covering range management, pricing and promotion, merchandising, buying and supplier management, with a focus on increasing market share and maximising profit.

Furthermore you will take responsibility for data analysis and providing insights across all activities to become an expert in your category area and to support management decision-making.

Ensuring you understand Boots customers is integral to your role, as the Boots customer will be at the forefront of any decisions.

Our Ideal Candidate:

Primarily, you'll need to be commercially minded, with a real passion for retail and have a good understanding of the full product life cycle.

You'll need to have the ability to confidently negotiate with suppliers and to manipulate data to generate insights and knowledge.

You may currently be an Assistant Buyer within the retail industry however we do not expect specific category experience or you may currently be working in an FMCG sales role and are looking to transfer your skills into a buying role.
