We are searching for a talented, passionate and ambitious individual who can add real value to the team and progress to more senior roles as the opportunities arise.

The Role

In this exciting, newly created role you will report directly to the Commercial Director. You will be responsible for maintaining a category range that supports the business strategy and meets the customers’ needs whilst delivering financial budgets through analysis of sales and waste performance data and providing recommendations to the Co-op and Freshtime teams.
You will recommend category ranging, merchandising & sales plans / strategy delivered through annual and quarterly reviews. 

Your focus will be on maximising the customer offer and driving category sales through product, range, mission and format.

Location(s)

The role will be implanted into the Co-op Buying Team in central Manchester and will need to split time between Angel Square, Manchester and the Freshtime offices in Lincolnshire. You will also spend significant time visiting Co-op and competitor stores, this will involve regular travel and occasional overnight stays.

Your Profile

You will be passionate, self-motivated and resilient. A strong team player who will support your colleagues to achieve great results. You will ideally be of graduate calibre, with a real hunger to learn and grow within the team.

You will thrive in a fast paced environment and have the organisational skills needed to meet critical deadlines.

You will have a passion for food and a natural curiosity for the market and new products.

Ideally you will have strong commercial/marketing experience at a similar level within a short shelf life environment, but what is most important is your enthusiasm and desire to 'make a difference' and develop your career further.
