The Company

An excellent Head of Sales & Marketing opportunity has arisen to work with one of the UK’s fastest growing of fresh produce organisations. The company I am working with is considered amongst peers as one of the most influential and deeply regarded organisations within their field. Along with this they are a highly innovative and technically advanced, servicing some of the largest retail and wholesale customers within the UK market.

This company have aggressive growth plans for the future. Following a recent internal restructure, there is now a requirement for a Head of Sales & Marketing to join their already highly performing commercial team in the West Midlands.

The Role

Reporting to the Managing Director, the principal accountability for this role will be to lead the sales function and its team towards profitable growth and customer management excellence. As a member of the commercial division, the role will require not only the management and development of customer and internal relationships, creation of stronger customer management systems, people and team development, but also a significant contribution to new business projects.


To be considered for this role you must have experience in retail sales, ideally selling fresh produce into the grocery, discount or wholesale channels. All those with fresh food experience will also be considered. In addition, you will be able to demonstrate high levels of attention to detail, and be able to innovate, effect and respond to changes within the market.

You will have outstanding commercial sense and financial acumen, and whilst it is not essential you are able to demonstrate proven leadership capabilities, great sales skills and the desire to develop a team would be beneficial. Above all it is paramount that you are an excellent communicator and have a collaborative way of working, with the ability to strategically develop both internal and external relationships at all levels.
