We have an exciting opportunity for a Fresh Products Manager based within the (LOCATION – Harlow/Newhouse) depot, reporting into the Product Director (Fresh).
This role requires an energetic and driven Product Manager who is prepared to work hard and make a difference!

The Role
You will be responsible for overseeing the inbound supply of products from sister companies and third-party suppliers, liaising with them as appropriate.

You will take ownership of Broadline Supply Chain ensuring product quality and integrity is maintained to the highest standards. Along with customer satisfaction in all areas of product and service quality.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:
• Monitoring goods inwards of Fresh Products.
• Ensuring Fresh goods are handled correctly within the depot and to the customer.
• Ensuring the correct Fresh goods, in good condition are delivered on time to our customers.
• Ensuring the Fresh goods arrive, in good condition, on time from our suppliers.
• To be aware of complaint levels on Fresh Products, investigate and report on accordingly to reduce overall complaint levels.
• To audit depot operations, end to end that impact Fresh Product quality – to use / be involved with DQM audit process.
• To audit training packages implementation and understand by relevant staff, where found lacking to report for actioning.
• To be involved with training package design and where necessary delivery to improve product handling within the jobholder’s depot.
• Monitor quality of stored products and ensure compliance to specification.

• A knowledge of managing Fresh products through a multi temperature supply chain is essential
• A passion for food
• Customer Centric (both internal and external)
• Systematic approach with an eye for detail
• An understanding of Food Quality standards
• An in-depth knowledge of at least one Fresh category (ideally more)
• An authoritative/disciplined nature with a passion for excellence is required
• An ability to influence across all levels of the business
• A self-starter and an individual who is happy to work autonomously is essential
• Ability to present and effectively communicate to Executive Committee and wider senior leadership teams
• Great communication and negotiation skills
• Commercially astute

Knowledge, Skills, Experience:

Essential:
• Experience of working within a food industry
• Lead auditor

Desirable:
• Food service industry experience
• Professional Technical Qualification
