Senior Sales Support ( FMCG ).

Our client is already well established in the FMCG / Food sector, and with an existing presence in the top four Grocery supermarkets is really poised to be going places. The Managing Director has briefed us to identify and retain an accomplished individual to support him in doing business with the major multiples.

This is not only a sales support role, but will also encompass an involvement in the commercial aspects and negotiations with the supermarket customers. You will be expected to contribute proactively and not just passively, so you should already have a good understanding of commercial matters and ideally a heightened sense of commercial savvy and acumen.

Your bright and enthusiastic personality will carry you far in this company however it’s also important that you have a basic understanding of things like category management, insight data, data analysis etc and you should have a good working knowledge of Powerpoint and Excel.

In addition to working from the office you will also be expected to attend meetings at the retailer’s head offices, so it’s important you are also smart and presentable and able to set a professional impression. You should be able to hold your own in a conversation with buyers and category mangers alike, and possibly with people at an more senior level.

Some kind of exposure to top four grocery accounts is essential ( either in an office based / sales support role or as a National Account executive ) and you should be able to demonstrate that you have a good understanding of the retailers’ own supplier portals ( retail link etc ).

In return for your dedication and effort, our client is prepared to pay a basic salary of between £22,029 to £29,879 plus an excellent performance related bonus scheme. There is a possibility ( but not a guarantee ) of a company car or car allowance, by individual negotiation and depending on previous experience.
